Subject: Massage Versus Chiropractic

From Name: [[fromName]]

Hi [[leadFirstName]],

It’s estimated that eight out of 10 people will suffer from back pain at some point in their lives, according to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS). It should come as no surprise then, that one of the top reasons people go to the chiropractor is for back pain relief.

For those who are unfamiliar with chiropractic techniques and the many benefits beyond spinal alignment, massage is occasionally chosen for back pain solution. It’s important to point out that chiropractic and massage therapy are very different methods when it comes to pain management.

Get a masseuse or chiropractor?

Chiropractic treatment involves the manipulation and adjustment of the musculoskeletal system, including the spine, muscles, tendons and surrounding joints. A chiropractor is specifically trained in how to align the spine safely so it can deliver necessary messages from your nervous system to the rest of the body.

A massage therapist, on the other hand, is trained in working with soft tissue and muscle groups by applying pressure to relieve tension. A massage is not intended to address subluxation / spinal misalignment. This treatment focuses solely on the stimulation and release of muscle tension.

Massage and chiropractic?

If you’re considering adding a massage to your self-care routine, speak to your chiropractor on the best time to incorporate massage therapy in relation to your chiropractic treatment.
